Camp Fire First Texas hired Jazmine Lewis as the Council’s new vice president of youth development, responsible for overseeing Camp Fire First Texas after-school programs, school-based summer day camps and the Teens in Action program. .
Prior to joining Camp Fire, Lewis was Program Manager and Interim CEO at Trinity River Mission in Dallas, where she built and oversaw the implementation of several programs designed to improve youth engagement in the community. , self-awareness and completion of studies.
She has focused the last 14 years of her career in youth development working with diverse populations of promising children, youth and young adults aged 0-21.

Lewis holds a BA in English from Grambling State University and is completing an MA in Urban Affairs and Public Policy from the University of Texas at Arlington. She also holds several certifications, including nonprofit management from the University of Texas at Arlington; Mindful Schools, California Mindful Education Practitioner; Mental Health First Aid from the National Council for Behavioral Health and is a program facilitator trained in support groups based on the Rainbow Days program.
