Cavalry FC continues youth development through Combine – Cavalry FC

Calgary, Alta. (September 29, 2022) – Earlier this week, Cavalry FC hosted a combine at ATCO Field which allowed young players from soccer clubs across the city to showcase their talent and abilities as we continue to create a pathway for young players Canadians. Throughout the combine, the club are identifying players as part of a long-term plan to build a youth squad that will allow Cavalry to help develop for the future. This allows Cavalry FC to work alongside the city’s youth clubs while helping to promote the growth of the sport and young talent here in Canada.

Cavalry has selected 30 young players from five different Calgary-based clubs who compete in the Alberta Youth Soccer League (AYSL) over the course of three days to provide a glimpse of what being a member of Cavalry FC looks like on a day-to-day basis in a training. At the end of the combine, the coaching staff will identify individual players they would like to continue working with for 6-18 months with an individualized plan and group training as they continue to play with their AYSL clubs . This pathway system offers players who have been selected the opportunity to potentially appear on the Cavalry first team at a professional level, helping to nurture young talent in the future of Canadian soccer.
