The service, which has operated since 2001 as part of the Elgin Youth Development Group, supports local youth with courses, clubs and development opportunities.

Peter Mutch, Youth Worker and Youth Team Leader for the Elgin Youth Development Group, said: “Our project provides secondary school-aged youth with a safe place to socialize as well as access to a range of personal development opportunities, including after-school clubs, outdoor activities, and themed sessions.

“Today more than ever, young people need a place to go and access to additional support. With your help, we can increase our services and opening hours for young people. You don’t need to have experience working with young people, a passion for seeing young people achieve their potential in life.

“Our volunteers play a very important role in helping us to keep our project open to young people, and we are very grateful to those who give their time. We are looking to expand our activities and are looking for enthusiastic new volunteers to join our friendly team. Whether you can give a few hours a week or a few hours a month, we’d love to hear from you.”

Although many Elgin Youth Development Group sessions take place after school and during school holidays, there are flexible volunteer opportunities with the group and full training will be provided.
