The YWCA Youth Development Program is hiring! We are interested in offering employment to a Girls Inc. Program Facilitator.
Job Summary: Plan, organize and conduct activities with the girls during and outside school hours, including late afternoons, evenings and weekends, with occasional overnight trips. Responsible for the development, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of Girls Inc. programming at the YWCA. Coordinate community service-learning opportunities and provide overall support to girls enrolled in Girls Inc. through YWCA programming at Zonta House, school, while traveling, or at a community site.
Essential duties and responsibilities of the position: (Additional duties may be assigned)
• Research and development programs
• Work with Executive Director and/or Program Manager and staff to implement objectives within policies and approved budget
• Assess the requirements of the girls’ program within the community
• Communicate with youth representative organizations to determine needs and interests
• Participate in regional and national staff meetings, conferences and trainings to share ideas and concerns
• Work collaboratively with other staff to achieve goals and achieve staff performance
• Plan, implement and promote Girls Inc. at the YWCA program
• Schedule activities, facilities and volunteers as needed
• Ensure that all programs and activities are implemented in accordance with Girls Inc. at YWCA policy
• Animate groups of young participants aged 5 to 18 (5-9; 10-13; 14-18YOA)
• Provide “ongoing contact” support to participants (maintain school and community service information, keep teens connected to program)
• Serve as a liaison with parents/guardians through emails, phone calls and personal interactions
• Maintain healthy and appropriate relationships with girls with an emphasis on safety, support, interaction and engagement
• Attend school, church and community events to represent Girls Inc. at the YWCA
• Coordinate the community relations campaign to promote the girls program
• Organize publicity/promotion via social media of girls’ programs
• Maintain contacts with local, regional and territorial organizations for young people
Program performance and evaluation report
• Record information and prepare reports regarding youth programs, costs, number of participants, equipment and facilities
• Maintain registration forms and attendance records for all youth
• Provide monthly and annual reports on Girls Inc at YWCA programs and opportunities
• Keep supervisor informed of issues, concerns, needs, trends and unusual situations
Minimum qualification standards:
Bachelor’s degree in youth development, social work, psychology, education or related field preferred (equivalent work experience will be considered) and/or at least one year experience delivering girls’ programs/ youth.

Proven success in youth and family interactions. Knowledge of developmental stages of young people and positive approaches to behavior management. Experience implementing programs with adolescents. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information. Ability to interact and communicate with people at all levels of the organization and partner organizations. Ability to work individually and in a team. Comfortable working with diverse groups.
