Cayman Islands Youth Development Consortium launches ‘Assets Day’

The Cayman Islands Youth Development Consortium is launching Assets Day this Friday, January 21 at the Old Government Administration Building.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Supporting Cayman Youth Campaign is an outreach project of the Cayman Islands Youth Development Consortium that mobilizes Cayman Islanders to support young people, through the use of the Search Institute’s 40 Development Assets framework including youth need to be successful.

Half of assets focus on the relationships and opportunities they need in their families, schools and communities (external assets). The remaining assets focus on the strengths, values, and socio-emotional commitments that are nurtured in young people (internal assets).

The asset day will feature the updated proclamation of support for Caymanian youth and government officials and other community leaders will be in attendance.

Asset Day aims to draw attention to developmental assets that help young people succeed.

Community members pledge to become asset builders in their communities or donate $1/day to the Cayman Islands Youth Development Consortium at

The consortium’s target is to have 365 Asset Building Pledges and 365 Project 365 Pledges by the end of the month.
