Wilson Area School District Community – During National Awareness Week and Mental Health Awareness Month, the LINCS Family Center announces the organization of a community coalition to encourage healthy youth development in the Wilson Area School District community .
The LINCS Coalition will apply the Communities That Care (CTC) model in all of its activities. CTC is an evidence-based coalition model that targets the prevention of substance abuse, school dropout, delinquency, violence and mental health among young people. It has been widely implemented with demonstrated success in communities across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania since 1998.
For this effort to succeed, coalition members are needed. The coalition will use recent data to identify community needs, assess current programs, and develop an action plan to meet those needs. Organizations and individuals interested in learning more are encouraged to email LINCS@wilsonareasd.org or call 484-373-6200.
The LINCS Family Center currently offers a weekly pantry for nearly 550 families per year, a weekend meal program for 100 students each week, a learning garden that provides food for the pantry, and a field program of summer games providing a safe space for primary school students. learn and play.
