Drogheda Youth Development will receive €5,000 of annual funding from Coca-Cola


Drogheda Youth Development received a share of the €100,000 Coca-Cola Thank You Fund.

he local community group is one of 13 across the country that has pledged to support the future of young people across the island of Ireland, and will receive a grant share of this year’s fund.

The non-profit organization based in Louth is Drogheda Youth Development, which receives funding of €5,000.

Drogheda Youth Development will provide Co Louth youth aged 21-25 with a six-week course, preparing them for employment by engaging in several confidence-building activities. These activities will include personal decision making, literacy and numeracy support, stress management and goal setting. The objective of this program is to establish short-term work experience for eligible young people in the region by offering them the opportunity to become familiar with their chosen field of work as well as the necessary accreditations to make them better placed to find a job.

Launched in May 2021 as “A fund to support the future of young people across the island”, grants totaling €100,000 have been awarded by a jury to projects seeking to support initiatives aimed at 16-25 year olds. These projects will help build their resilience, address the education gaps that exist, and address the mental health challenges young people face today.
