Empower Youth Network (EYN) presents a series of virtual workshops for adults focused on healthy youth development.
EYN is a non-profit organization in Snoqualmie Valley that encourages young people to lead safe, healthy and successful lives. These workshops are for parents, guardians, educators and youth service providers. You can find more information below.
Guide the right choices:
A free 5-week course starting Monday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m., for parents and guardians of students in grades 4-8.
This program teaches proven methods for increasing communication in your family around important topics and making safe choices.
This course is presented by EYN’s Prevention Coordinator, Sara Young. Young coordinates EYN’s youth suicide prevention program and youth engagement in the Snoqualmie Valley and Riverview school districts.

Inside Out: Trauma-Informed Care:
A free 4-week course starting Thursday, May 12 at 6 p.m., designed for adults to learn about trauma, its impacts, and healing through self-awareness, self-regulation, and mindfulness.
The course is presented by Michelle John, EYN Youth Resilience and Community Resources Coordinator. She is an equity-minded and trauma-informed Snoqualmie Valley leader with a background in social work.

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA):
A one-day workshop on Saturday, May 21 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. YMHFA is for adults who regularly interact with youth.
The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a five-step action plan on how to support youth in crisis and non-crisis situations.
This class is led by M’Liss Moon, Youth Resilience and Community Resources Coordinator at EYN, and Rachel Tomczek, Registered Nurse and School Registered Nurse with 21 years of experience.
YMHFA course participants are required to complete a 2-hour self-paced online training 48 hours prior to the virtual workshop.
