Children in grades 3-6 can learn about pollinators and the flowers that help them, make a spring floral arrangement to take home, and play flower bingo with friends at the Garden Club’s Youth Program in Long Beach Island on Wednesday, April 20 at 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Long Beach Island branch of the Ocean County Library in Surf City.
“This is our first youth program since the pandemic,” said club advertising director Gillian Rozicer. “Plans are underway for a second program before summer on May 18 at the library. We will not meet in June, July or August, but we will be back in September.
Rozicer said other upcoming activities include participating in the Saturday, April 9 beach sweep with Clean Ocean Action and a service program for seniors on Wednesday, April 13 at 1 p.m. Club members help seniors create spring flower arrangements to take home to the Bay Avenue Community Center in Manahawkin.
