Mansfield Town Academy is looking for enthusiastic and innovative people to help shape our players and the people of the future.

General objective of the work:

Be part of the Mansfield Town FC academy coaching staff responsible for the delivery of the academy Grade 3 grassroots phase and youth development phase coaching program to maximize opportunities for young players to reach their full potential in line with the vision and philosophy of the academy.

Main Responsibilities/Job Description:

Provide high level coaching to a respective age group, educating them in accordance with the MTFC academy philosophy and the MTFC coaching competency framework as outlined in the academy performance plan.

· Ensure that all players in the academy adhere to the values ​​of the MTFC and demonstrate a high level of respect and discipline.

· Adhere to the Coaches Code of Conduct.

· Help players set individual short and long term goals and create individual action plans for all players.

· Maintain all PMA training and match schedule records for each session throughout the season.

· Complete player progress reports on PMA.

· Attend parent evening sessions throughout the season for each individual player.

· Develop and maintain a professional relationship with the parents of the youth in the program.

· Complete CPD (Continuing Professional Development) to maintain coaching qualifications.

· Work with the Coaching Manager to complete a Personal Coach Development Plan in accordance with the MTFC Coach Competency Framework.

· To maintain the FA Licensed Coaches Club membership criteria.

· To identify players available each weekend for matches and communicate any additional requests for players.

Attend Coach Duty Days as directed by Academy Director/Academy Operations Manager/Training Manager.

· Support the development of young players in healthy lifestyle, diet, drug awareness, education.

· Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of practice equipment and play kit for all age groups.

· Attend coaches meetings or additional practice nights as directed by the Academy Director/Academy Operations Manager/Training Manager.

· Assess trials riders both in practice and at matches and provide feedback to the academy recruiting manager.

· Assist with sport science input, as appropriate, during training sessions.

· To attend tournaments and trips at the request of the club.

· Comply with all club policies, including (but not limited to) safeguarding, equality and health and safety.



• UEFA B License and above

• EFAIF qualification

• Experience coaching relevant age groups (preferably in an academy/player development environment)

• Computer skills (Word/ Excel/ Access)

• High levels of communication skills, both oral and written.

• Friendly and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic.

• Sensitive to the needs of young players and parents/guardians

• Willingness to work weekends and evenings.

• Desire to be an ambassador for MTFC in a public role

• CRB check performed

• FA Youth Awards

• Full driving license


• Knowledge of the PMA system.

• Knowledge and understanding of the EPPP process
