Youth development nonprofit to host free day of golf at City of Lakes Summer Games



Free day of golf and service for young people in the Twin Cities metro

First Tee Minnesota, a non-profit program that integrates life skills training with golf instruction, is partnering with the City of Lakes Summer Games of the Seeds to Harvest Coalition to host the Golf day Saturday, August 7, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at North Commons Park in Minneapolis.

Golf saw an explosion in popularity in 2020 as more people sought out outdoor activities during the pandemic, and the local organization First Tee Minnesota is now introducing golf to children and teens who might otherwise not. be exposed to the game and the life lessons it teaches.

The event is part of the City of Lakes Community Summer Games, which will run July 18 through August 7, 2021. Hundreds of Grades 3 to 8 students across the metro area will have the chance to participate in traditional and non-traditional sports. events led by experienced coaches weekly in North Minneapolis.

The games will bring communities together after this difficult time, promoting peace, progress, service and sportsmanship at North Commons Park, the North Community YMCA and other local facilities. This event is made possible thanks to the support of the Toro company.
